The Midnight Rider was originally conceived and designed in 1986. After some revision to the original design it was eventually approved for construction in March of 1997. The design proposed a 25 ton, 416 square foot coach named “The Midnight Rider”. It took 7 years to build. The Midnight Rider is licensed by the Public Utilities Commission and operated by Irontree Management as a “Tractor-Trailer Limousine” and has been taking passengers since June of 2005.

Masterfully and painstakingly engineered by Mike Machado and constructed by his team, The Midnight Rider is steel, aluminum, and stainless on its exterior. The interior is elegantly decorated by Pamela Bartholomew with mirrored wood, polished brass, and sumptous fabrics. Its richly crafted design represents luxury travel which has long since disappeared for the public. This exciting “new” experience in travel, unmatched by any vehicle offering passenger service today, features 21st century technology with décor representative of the luxury days of railroad travel and appointments of the 1870's Presidential Pullman Cars.
