The first appearance of The Midnight Rider is awesome to say the least and once you board it, it is even more impressive.  The operation of this twenty-six ton, seventy foot beauty is as complex as any aircraft, as formidable as a railroad, and as demanding as any eighteen-wheeler that ever roamed America’s highways.  Most of us are familiar with limousines, in which some preparation is necessary of course.  In preparation for each event on The Midnight Rider, the operator and engineer require a minimum of four hours just to check and recheck its more than one hundred systems.  Not to mention we run every trip in advance to ensure a safe and legal route.  

Passengers enjoy their “Ride In Time” in the nightclub party atmosphere of The  Midnight Rider, socializing, dancing, and moving about while traveling.  Many are interested in how this is possible, which brings us to what happens in the truck, the “Power Unit” of The Midnight Rider.  Well to start with, the driver is responsible for the passengers’ safety while in route, which is always eventful for the driver.  You can just imagine the multitude of things that can transpire while driving a vehicle this size through city streets, residential areas, highways, and rural routes.  Our operation’s specialist is onboard the truck not only to help the driver, but to monitor the security system and phone system keeping in constant visual and audio communications with the “Party Unit” of The Midnight Rider.  This person also runs the entertainment devises to meet the music, movie, and satellite television requests of our guests.  Together the driver, and operation’s specialist have eighteen gages, six meters, eight monitors, a full switchboard, three sound systems and eight video inputs to keep them on their toes continuously while in operation.
